Hikora Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 13, 2026
1. Introduction
Hikora is a personal hiking record application designed to help users track outdoor routes, save scenic locations, organize hiking photographs, and review completed hiking experiences.
This Privacy Policy explains how Hikora accesses, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the application. By using Hikora, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Access and Collect
Depending on the features you choose to use, Hikora may access or process the following information.
2.1 Location Information
When you start a hiking session and enable location access, Hikora uses GPS and available location services to record your actual walking route.
Location-related information may include:
- GPS coordinates collected during a hiking session.
- Starting and ending locations.
- Route points and recorded timestamps.
- Locations associated with saved scenic spots.
- Location-related information used to calculate hiking distance and movement statistics.
Location access is essential to the route-tracking features. If you deny or disable location access, some functions, including accurate GPS tracking and location-linked scenic records, may be unavailable or incomplete.
2.2 Hiking Records
Hikora may store information you create while using the application, including:
- Hiking dates and session names.
- Recorded routes and starting and ending points.
- Hiking distance, duration, and average movement speed.
- Pause and resume information.
- Hiking difficulty levels.
- Scenic spot descriptions and personal notes.
- Hiking reflections and selected photographs.
This information is used to display your hiking history, calculate statistics, and organize your outdoor experiences.
2.3 Camera and Photo Library
Hikora may request camera access when you choose to take photographs of scenery and photo library access when you select existing images.
Photographs may be associated with a hiking session, scenic location, recording time, or personal note, depending on the information available and the features you use.
Camera and photo library access are used to support features you initiate. You can decline these permissions, although taking or selecting photographs within the application may then be unavailable.
If a selected photograph contains embedded location information or other metadata, that information may remain associated with the photograph depending on how it is imported and processed.
2.4 Information You Provide
Information you voluntarily enter, such as hiking names, difficulty selections, scenic descriptions, and personal reflections, may be stored as part of your hiking records.
Please avoid including sensitive personal information in notes or photographs unless you are comfortable keeping it within your records or sharing it through an external feature.
3. How We Use Information
Hikora uses the information described above to provide its core features, including:
- Recording GPS hiking routes.
- Calculating hiking distance and elapsed or recorded duration.
- Displaying route maps and recorded route points.
- Associating scenic photographs and notes with locations.
- Creating visual hiking summary cards.
- Organizing and displaying hiking history.
- Allowing you to review and edit previously saved records.
- Maintaining the application's functionality and reliability.
Hikora does not use location information for purposes unrelated to these features as described in this Policy.
4. Data Storage and Retention
Hiking records, route information, notes, and associated photographs may be stored on your device according to the application's implementation.
Records may remain available until you delete them or remove the application or its data. The precise effect of uninstalling the application depends on the storage mechanism used by your device and the application.
If a feature uses an external map provider or another third-party service, certain information may be processed by that provider as necessary to deliver the feature. The provider's own privacy policy may also apply.
This Policy does not promise cloud backup or cross-device synchronization unless such functionality is expressly provided by Hikora.
5. Location Tracking and Background Operation
Hikora uses location services to record hiking routes when you initiate a tracking session.
The availability and continuity of GPS tracking may depend on your device, operating system permissions, signal conditions, battery settings, and whether the application is permitted to operate in the background.
If background tracking is not supported or permitted, route recording may be interrupted when the application is inactive. Recorded routes may contain gaps when GPS signals are weak or unavailable.
Hikora does not intentionally treat unrecorded map roads as actual walking routes.
6. Sharing and External Services
Hikora may provide functions that allow you to save a hiking summary card as an image or share it using system-provided sharing features.
When you choose to share a record, the information included in the shared content may be accessible to recipients or services you select. A summary image may reveal route details, location information, dates, or photographs.
Please review the content before sharing it.
External applications, operating system services, and map providers may process information under their own privacy policies. Hikora does not control the privacy practices of independent third-party services.
7. Data Disclosure
Hikora does not sell your personal information.
Information may be disclosed when necessary to provide a feature you explicitly request through an external service, comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the application.
Where applicable, disclosure will be limited to what is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.
8. Data Security
Reasonable measures are used to protect information handled by the application against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should keep your device secure and exercise care when exporting or sharing hiking records that reveal personal locations.
9. Your Choices and Rights
You can manage your use of Hikora's features through the application and your device settings.
Depending on the available functionality, you may be able to:
- Enable or disable location access.
- Grant or revoke camera and photo library permissions.
- Review, edit, or delete hiking records.
- Remove scenic photographs or personal notes.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may also have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or other information about your personal data.

Hikora is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information in circumstances where collection is not permitted, please contact us so that the matter can be reviewed and appropriate action taken.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the application, applicable laws, or our privacy practices.
The updated version will include a revised effective date. Continued use of Hikora after an update becomes effective is subject to the revised Policy to the extent permitted by applicable law.
